Travi$ Scott Shows Growth With His “Days Before Rodeo” Album
The Houston based rapper and producer recently dropped his “Days Before Rodeo” mixtape, with appearances from Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, Migos, and Pewee Longway.
Like his previous mixtape “Owl Pharoah,” this entire project has impeccable production right through (props to Metro Boomin and anyone else that contributed to this project), especially on “Drugs You Should Try It” which was somewhat unexpected but amazing. Scott has always shown through his music and production that he’s not afraid to come forth with a different sound and experiment with his music, which to me, separates him from his peers; from his lyrics, unique flow and unorthodox visuals. You can definitely tell he’s comfortable in the lane he’s created and won’t be conforming to the likes of “mainstream music” like his mentor, Kanye West.
The Houston native has definitely shown growth since his last release, hopefully his album will be more personal like his “Backyard” track, where he discusses life before stardom; He gives an insight into his south-side Houston upbringing with mention of his mother’s frequent hospital visits, and her job with AT&T and not being able to get their service.
Days Before Rodeo is exactly what fans expected it to be and more, Travi$ definitely displayed his creativity throughout the entire project. Hopefully his next project will show his continued growth and features from his G.O.O.D Music family.
